Unless there is an Independent standing in my constituency at the next GE, I'm not going to bother voting. Trouble is, the masses will vote for the usual suspects and we shall all - rebels and conformists - go down with the ship.
That’s the danger certainly. But I’m not giving up just yet. Also. There’s plenty other things to enjoy which our bosses have no hold over. So having fun and enjoying yourself is almost an act of rebellion. At least that’s what I tell myself!
The error in this statement deserves one of your own caustic eviscerations one day:
"it seems fair to say that at the moment renewables (wind and solar) provide about 25% of Britain’s energy needs".
Only about 20% of Britain's energy needs are met by electricity (your linked source). The rest is fuel burnt directly for transport, heating and industry etc
This confusion is absolutely deliberate by the green lobby. The whole NetZero project would come to a quick halt if more people realised that 25% renewable (sounds like we're getting there) meant 25% of electricity but only 5% of total energy needs (sounds like it's hopeless and we should give up now).
Thanks Christian. I try to link and quote in good faith but I am happy to caustically eviscerate as required. I remember it was tricky finding a clear figure for this. Maybe because the real numbers aren’t very impressive!
I always worry about revolutions Matthew. Looking back at history, they always seem to get hijacked by the worst possible actors. And all that happens in the end is that regular people swap bosses. I’d be happy to start with a reduction in the powers and reach of the state and a bit more respect shown to voters. At least I think that is potentially achievable.
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way.
Ha ha. Thanks for that quote Deidre. You have no idea how apposite it is right now.
Please can it be your turn to run the country 🙏🏻

Ha ha Thanks Bettina. Maybe taking it turns would be an improvement on the current system.
Yes I think I might sit out the next one too.
They control our fuel, our food and our money: we become slaves to elites, and their masters the one world government.

If we are willing to be fools, why should they disabuse us of the opportunity?
It’s a good question. What do you think? Will people keep putting up with it?
No.
And when they don't, the change will not be gradual, there will come a tipping point and then all Hell will break loose.
Nothing has happened in the last 250 years to motivate a change, apparently.
Maybe we’re just lulling them into a false sense of security…. Yes you’re right. It’s not looking great.
