Another wonderful piece which is as entertaining as it is insightful.
Your comment about Sir Very Very Kleir apparently mis-speaking:
"This was no mere slip of the tongue. An accidental mistake. This guy is a trained barrister after all. This was intentional"
raised all my old confusion about what his game is. Is he, on the one hand, a highly intelligent technocrat, working relentlessly to further his own (or some shadowy world elite's) plan for the reshaping and downgrading of Britain? Or, on the other hand, is he a scared and bungling midwit whose misplaced ambition has landed him with a job he now realises he cannot possibly do?
In general, I tend to the cock-up rather than conspiracy angle; that when he said he preferred Davos to Westminster, he wasn't signalling our future to those in the know, but was too stupid to see how this would go down. A bit like failing to understand how accepting Lord Alli's freebies would look to those on low incomes. If you were competently technocratic, especially if you were working to globalist instructions, would you choose Rayner, Miliband, and Lammy as the masterminds to help you carry them out?
And so to his masterful barrister's self-presentation. It's hard to recall a PM who looked so ill at ease, so scared and shifty. He's been like that forever. He can't project a sense of purpose or confidence, when that would be of enormous use to him. He can't think on his feet, relying on set-pieces in PMQs, and being made to look dishonest and weak by competent interviewers. My guess is that when he first called the series a "documentary" in Parliament, it's because he hadn't watched it at all and had only the faintest idea what it was about. Does a modern PM have the time to watch an hour's TV with his children? Or is it more likely that he had been given a 30-second briefing by a colleague or SpAd and then thought he could wing it? Then, after being ridiculed for that, he was trying so hard to avoid the same mistake that he made it again.
If he was pretending, feigning a slip of the tongue in order to plant a seed in the public mind, then why are the public not minded to like and believe him? And why are we not freeing more of those Israeli sausages?
Starmer comes across as the very opposite of what we imagine a competent barrister to be. That could of course all be part of some incredibly clever bluff, by my money's on him being no more than an over-promoted malevolent bureaucrat.
Hi Simon. Thanks. Yes. Starmer is very confusing. He’s either playing 4D chess or knocking over the board like a drunken nana. Nothing he does makes sense when you look at it in context with all the other senseless things he does.
Your take on the ‘documentary’ thing rings true. It’s like when Cameron claimed to support Aston Villa but then got mixed up with West Ham because the colours are the same. 😆
Another excellent piece from LSO and this very interesting comment from Simon Neale has set me thinking. I have been in two minds about Sir TTK for a while (is it conspiracy or cock-up) and one factor that has, until now, influenced this is my long held belief that barristers are (if nothing else) good at thinking on their feet. I used to be a solicitor and recall well how barristers looked down on their lesser legal brethren, who were deemed to be fit only for the desk bound preparatory work necessary to enable the superior beings to present a case in court. However, maybe Simon Neale's final paragraph has got it exactly right.
Thank you Bill. Simon has opened up a whole new line of academic inquiry today!
Yes. He seems incredibly flat footed for a barrister. I cannot ever imagine Starmer in a courtroom throwing an orange, and when the accused catches it declaring
Maybe there is another interpretation. Try this one.
What if he really is the admin-type who only cares about the facts and figures. He wants to do a good job but in just a few policy areas that are important to him. Would that be so bad?
His advisors say that he has to have an opinion about Netflix dramas. He doesn't really care but his advisors tell him that he can’t go around not having opinions so they make one up for him.
He’s not a good public speaker. He’s not Johnson or Badinoch… but maybe that’s not so bad either. We have only recently got used to the idea that politicians have to be great speakers because they are on telly all the time. Maybe other things are more important. Attlee wasn't a great speaker either.
I’m not trying to defend Starmer’s political views. I’m just saying that maybe we have developed weird ideas about what a politician should be good at.
As a politician, maybe they need to learn and grow and yes, listen to advisors. As a PM, you need to be very clear in your own mind and not be influenced by someone who says you should do this or that. They need to lead. And Starmer is most definitely not a leader, he is incredibly weak.
My guess is that Starmer just said what his advisors told him to say and that he doesn't really care. I expect he did the same for the transwoman-are-women thing.
I’m OK with that as long as he focuses on the good stuff.
He is triangulating Ragged. Just like he triangulates on every other divisive issue.
It doesn’t make him look decisive. It makes him look like what he is. A two faced opportunist lawyer whose natural mode of communication is obfuscation and equivocation.
The public don’t like it. And they don’t like him.
Nailed it. If say, the conspiracies were true, who in their right mind would choose Rayner (zero qualifications), Reeves (worked in complaints at HBOS) and "diplomacy Dave" as their top team? I mean, seriously. Even misery magnet Cooper is struggling and hopelessly over promoted. Unless of course the mission is simply to destroy Britain in which case they're doing a terrific job 😂
My children are autistic. 3 severely ie special school, mainly unverbal. Will need support forever. One is awaiting an autism assessment in mainstream.
He doesn't speak at school and still needs walking there and back at 15.
But academically is fine.
I'm not asking for extra time in exams or medication. Just chance to be diagnosed for which he's been waiting 4 years with no chance whatsoever.
Like you say, because of middle class fakers banging on about being neuro bloody diverse like its some kind of identity or choice.
Thank you Maddalene. I really appreciate your comment. A friend of mind went through a similar process. She is incredibly bloody minded and eventually managed to get her child into a regular school but with constant assistance/supervision. The council were not keen. But now her child has more or less grown up and is doing very well. I hope you can work out something similar.
All the very best to your family. I hope you get the diagnosis you need. 🤞
Excellent piece LSO. I remember those classrooms and those nuns from my own school days. You didn’t mess with those ladies.
This recent manifestation of the coordinated mania is just that. Mania.
And I should know as I had REAL mania once in my life.
Starmer is an educated idiot, and they seem to be everywhere these days. Or maybe they’ve always been around and I just wasn’t looking? And yes he chooses his words intentionally. He is a trained barrister. Used to warping words to meet his own needs and intended outcomes. Take him for a fool at your peril. Believe that he believes what he says. “Lock down for longer and harder. Some men are women. Speech is dangerous…” I really have no idea why people voted for this man ,(well they didn’t!),
who told all the world very clearly what he was and is and will always be. He’ll take a knee if it suits his purpose. A product of our self- centered “me first” times. Not someone who will be admired when history is written but a despicable blot on the history of a once proud country.
Not a lot I can add to that Maria! Spot on. For all his early errors and disasters I fear Starmer is tightening his grip on power. And the right seems to be doing its best to help him. Happy Easter to you too! 🍳
The left wing have a strange view that reality is whatever you wish it to be, so long as that doesn't include pointing out obvious things like there are potentially several billion people who would theoretically each be better off if allowed to come here, but there would be standing space only. That gets you cancelled, alongside disputing the benefit of COVID lockdowns and vaccines, not buying into anthropogenic climate change, and saying biological men can't ever be women.
Another of their views is that children are not naughty. They are autistic, or have ADHD, or Aspergers, and so it's not their fault when they behave badly, and you can't deny them anything or discipline them (try taking their iPads away and Plod is banging you up). Or it's because they are in the wrong body and need drugs or surgery to "help" them.
We are about to enter a world where the employer is always wrong, and the employee is always right, even if they are lazy, feckless untalented idiots. Similarly with tenants. The result will be that they will find no job to muck up or house to rent and trash, until the state in its wisdom puts them all in non jobs in the public sector while living in prefab barracks.
I fear you are right Jeremy. I wouldn’t even think of staring a business today. And it looks like we will soon run out of rentable properties, like they did in Ireland for many of the same reasons.
Leave room for me when I join you and Sean in the dark place. Oh, and Simon is right about Starmer, but he’s not simply a bungling midwit. Starmer is out of his depth, but he also has a dark agenda. We knew back when he was DPP that he would become leader of the Labour Party, years before he achieved it. He is a strategist. You don’t accidentally sell off the Chagos Islands. You don’t accidentally turn the State against its own people and imprison white people for hurty tweets. You don’t accidentally run an electoral campaign that is without substance. He has gained access to our Apple iPhones and bank accounts. There is a bill going through at the moment that will ensure everything we say and do is policed. There is likely to be an Islamophobia law, not to mention misogyny becoming a terrorist offence. None of this is accidental. He may be a dick, but he’s a dangerous dick. Now, move over and make room for me. I’ve got biscuits.
It’s scary when you put it like that Donna. But just imagine if you could travel back to 1990 and tell yourself what laws Britain would have in 30 years time. You would not have believed it.
Biscuits are the universal entry ticket. Come on in.
A brilliant piece Mr Opinions. I'd point out that when the state wants something designed, built, rebuilt, cleaned, cleared, paid for, replaced, upgraded, maintained the person doing it is, invariably going to be a white bloke. Normally called Dave, but that might be just my experience.
It's infuriating that masculinity has been so derided as if dismissing it somehow raises others up. People are different, not better, not lesser, just different. But having difference is forbidden in the Left wing world. All must be the same - except the favoured groups.
I have wondered if the assault on masculinity is what has driven the weak men into pretending to be women. Not allowed to be men, they abandon the natural to feel some sense of identity.
On autism: my brother is seveerely autistic. His brain is miswired. To a lesser degree so is mine. At school he was classed as slow, and a low achiever because he'd sit in class with his hands clapped over his ears and is eyes jammed shut because it was too bright and too loud. Our parents took us to psychotherapists to make us - well, mother wanted us to be what she wanted, but that's a completely different story.
Nonetheless, we grew up, my brother moved into warden monitored accommodation and functions. He does his shopping, writes his code, builds and sells his computers and his contractee thinks he's amazing. Yes, we wait outside until 11 o'clock on a Saturday and leave at 11:43 on the dot but he works, he contributes. He still has his moments (when the old warden retired and a new one started and changed her dress every day was a particularly difficult time).
The reason we have so many 'diagnosed' children these days is because, as you reference, the state pays people to have them. Remove the funding and 95% of these 'autistics' would simply be exposed as poorly disciplined, badly socialised children.
You’re so right Wibbling. I linked to a great piece by Peter Lloyd on Substack about why he supports the striking Birmingham bin men. For all the reasons you mention.
I found the dark web once. I kept banging into things so turned the lights on.
Although, that said there are some really, really dodgy parts of the internet but there's also some wonderful ones, with illness support forums, money advice, weight loss fora, film reviews and places like this where folk can entertain, educate and inform (as Al Beeb isn't doing that any more!).
Terrific piece LSO, going from mass child misdiagnoses through to the hysterical nonsense of the transgender cult ideology. .
For me, the episode of BBC Sounds 'Nolan', where Dr David Bell explained so brilliantly the whole wrong-headed idea of "trans" children, was a real light bulb moment. I saved that recording even.
That almost the entire establishment has been so captured - and I count numerous professional people in my circle - by a grisly and nonsensical ideology without any critical thought makes me feel like I am living in an altered reality. Do they not see? Do they not read up, explore this subject? I do read widely and broadly, and what you say here, so brilliantly, sums it up.
Thank you Julia. It’s a tricky one to cover. Because it’s kids. And of course there are many children in genuine need of help.
I drew on an article that David Bell wrote for the Telegraph for the piece. And had a couple of quotes lined up. As ever, I ran out of space, so I had to just add his article as a link.
But the quote was.
‘Many distressed children, often same-sex attracted and with autistic comorbidities, were put on a medical pathway to transition by some clinicians who had been captured by “trans” ideology
Further, over 95 per cent of children started on a medical pathway will proceed to cross sex hormones and many to surgical intervention.’
Yes Julia. I’ve reported him. And tried to ban him. I’m so sorry. This is the second time this week. I have no brilliant investments for you sadly. Thanks for letting me know.
You don’t stumble on the dark web by accident. It’s the internet that doesn’t show up in search engines, and you need a special piece of software, the Tor browser, to access it. It’s basically full of scammers, stolen data and Russian soldiers trained in hacking. It’s a place where CSAM is served up as a joke (security contacts tell me). The idea that children are accessing it is as risible as the emoji charts we’ve had pushed at us recently, when we’re told it’s a secret language all children understand.
The real takeaway from Adolescence is that Starmer and Southgate are too thick to realise that the missing male role models they’re arseing on about are called “fathers”, who also have other positive parts to play in a thing we call the “family”.
Well-written and keenly observant. I would argue that your key word here is, Malthusian. The whole carefully constructed edifice of systemic childhood perversion you describe is most convincingly explained by that. The aggressively engineered demise of the family, the fatherlessness, the fomented distrust between men and women, all of that provides perfect weather conditions for propagating "neurodivergence" as a way to keep down kids, to medicate them, and to drive them to that trans bolthole.
Re autism. I'm an autistic mum of two autistic boys. The understanding by the medical profession of autism has changed a lot in 80 years, 20 years ago, I would not have been diagnosed because even then it was thought only boys could be autistic. All 3 of us share difficulties but have different ones too, but I agree the recent explosion in diagnosis needs addressing. Some of it I believe is due to lockdown - some folks became socially anxious or lost their social skills altogether and this has led parents to seek a diagnosis. I also know that in some parts of the country dx is being done over zoom in a chat with a nurse, which is totally unacceptable. How can that be a thorough process when I recall the months of psychological evaluation I and my boys went through?
Interestingly, the kids falling for the trans crap are largely autistic girls and I recall my own struggles as a teenager. It's not that you want to be a boy, so much as you can't cope with the changes your body is going through and just want to go back to how you were. Anorexia used to be prevalent in this group, trans has replaced it. We talk to our boys about everything and that's something all parents need to do - keep those lines of communication open, keep talking and no subject is ever off limits.
Thanks for sharing these personal challenges. I agree that the more we diagnose illnesses in the name of compassion, the less we end up helping those who really are suffering.
Nothing to disagree with today, Mr LSO. Well done!
Ever the optimist, I think the tide is turning on attitudes to boys. I think people are starting to notice that there are no male teachers and no books aimed at boys and maybe masculinity is not so bad. I think they are ready to do something about it. Let’s hope!
PS. I was one of the naughtiest boys in school. I wonder what the woke teachers would have done with me. Re-education camp? Off with my goolies?
You must be an optimist Ragged. This storm of misandry is only just blowing up around the Netflix drama. I think we have a long way to go before men/fathers are seen as a solution, and not a blight.
I think you did get re educated right? That was the navy’s job I think. And they seem to have done a bang up job.
You are so kind! I always felt like I was plenty educated — just not in the way that they wanted to teach me.
There will always be laggards but I think the leading edge in child psychology and education has noticed that the way have been doing it is not working.
As far as help in education goes it's more than just exam time. Free printing, free helpful software like grammarly, bursaries towards equipment like printers and laptops. It's a lot of money every year which I don't get because I refuse to go get a diagnosis for being me. It makes me really annoyed to be honest. My father sometimes says he doesn't blame them, everyone else is doing it, apart from me it seems. So I have to work harder and harder to morally stay out of the hand out, free ride system, and ironically, pay for everyone else to stay in it.
That's exactly how I feel. Please don't diagnose me, and thanks but no thanks, you can keep the special help. I have several times more intelligence than most of the people who want to 'help' me with my 'disability'.
You are too cynical, Mr LSO! I think it's unreasonable to expect him to care about every little thing.
Next Thursday!
Ha ha. Maybe Ragged.
But you know that’s literally his job right?

Yes Wibbling. People made it, so it has goods bits and bad bits I guess.
I'm just waiting for Starmer to ban fibre as it's clearly the reason for all the bad things on the internet. After all, he blames Amazon for knives?
Ha. Yes. And they’ve just banned samurai swords which should put a stop to that swathe of ninja murders we’ve had recently.

Have you been HACKED, LSO??
Yes Julia. I’ve reported him. And tried to ban him. I’m so sorry. This is the second time this week. I have no brilliant investments for you sadly. Thanks for letting me know.
Poor you. The downside of mass communication!
A hard read. Made moreso by ones inability to resolve any of the issues raised.
It’s a tough one Eric. But I think ultimately, at least for most kids the solution is, ‘let them grow out of it.’
My 80 year old father often jokes that he feels discriminated against because he hasn't got a "syndrome" 😂
I’m sure he could get a diagnosis for that Rivah. Late Onset Disorder Deficit Disorder maybe? 🤔
My dad thought this was bloody hilarious (as did I), many thanks LSO 😂
Thanks Rivah. Best to your dad!
Thanks Jim. I’ll try to keep avoiding it then.
Yes. The fact that the coppers kid had to explain what an emoji meant was indeed risible. You don’t have to be Alan Turing to decode emojis. 🙄🥜
Thanks for sharing that insight Toffeepud. And great advice. Always keep talking. 👊

It's a great attitude to have 💪🏻
Yes. But I expect you use your well developed social skills to avoid making them aware of that fact Ray. 🤣
Oh lovely stuff LSO as always.
Thank you Matthew!
